Frisco Heritage Museum
Arts & Culture Educator
Frisco, Texas
An educator from an early age – teaching my dolls and stuffed animals to read after starting to read independently at age 4, it was clear that I would become an English Teacher.  What I didn’t expect was that I would also teach History and Humanities to middle and high schoolers in addition to the 3 years I spent teaching English to Italians in Rome, Italy!  What was even more unexpected was that I’d ever leave the formal education classroom.  At age 37 – at the beginning of the last economic crisis – I left the classroom and began my second career in non-profit Museum Education.  I have done everything in a museum from cleaning the toilets to creating summer camps and exhibits to running the silent auction in 3 museums of different sizes in Dallas since 2008; I am so happy that I had the great good fortune in May 2019 to become an employee and resident of the City of Frisco as the educator for the Frisco Heritage Museum, part of the Arts & Culture division of the city’s Parks & Recreation department.
